Whipped up this easy peasy flannel rhyme for baby storytime in December and I’m FINALLY getting around to sharing it! This fun flannel goes great with a shapes, imagination, construction, play or toy storytime theme:
One Block, Two Blocks
One block, two blocks,
Three blocks, four.
Five blocks, six blocks,
Seven blocks, more!
Eight blocks, nine blocks,
Now there’s ten.
Let’s knock them over
And build again!

Although the babies enjoyed this flannel rhyme (especially the knocking shapes off the flannelboard part), I think it’s ideally suited for toddler time. You could stack the blocks differently each time through and the toddlers could talk about your block creation. Does it look like a tower? A rocket? A train? The older siblings in the audience also enjoyed building with the shapes on the flannelboard during Stay and Play!
